Marketplace
The Checkbook Marketplace is a fully embeddable ecosystem that enables you to facilitate transactions to, or on behalf of your users and customers. It can be seamlessly integrated via API and completely white-labeled to match your brand. Checkbook’s Marketplace is used to power a diverse range of payment experiences, including:
- Earned wage access platforms
- Gig economy marketplaces
- Bill pay for vertical SaaS
- Property management and rent disbursement
- Cross border/remittance payments
Components
A Checkbook Marketplace is made up of a single marketplace owner and one or more marketplace users:
Marketplace Owner
The primary Checkbook customer who sets up and manages the Marketplace. Marketplace Owners can configure the platform to suit their needs, onboard Marketplace Users, manage their accounts, and initiate transactions on their behalf. This is the party that will be a direct Checkbook customer.
Marketplace User
Entities (businesses or individuals) transacting within the Marketplace. They can send and receive payments from the Marketplace Owner, other Marketplace Users, or external parties. Marketplace Users do not need their own Checkbook account, and interactions with Checkbook are handled by the Marketplace Owner.
Core Capabilities
Two core functions form the foundation of the Marketplace, and can be combined to build customized financial workflows:
Onboarding Users
The first step in building your Marketplace is creating users. Add accounts, and KYC/KYB information to establish verified participants ready to transact.
Making Payments
Funds can flow into the Marketplace, between users, or out to external recipients. Payments are the primary method by which users and external parties interact with the Marketplace.
